REFEREE DEVELopMEnt pRoGRaM This year the GPs rugby program made signifcant progress in this area the association worked closely with the Qrra. This has seen a number of student referees trained at the start of the year and then added to the Qrra database. There is still more work to be done in this area, but i believe most schools have made progress in the management and organisation of rugby at their home venues. i would also like to take this opportunity to thank Peter Todd and the Debra Daly from the Nudgee sports Offce for coordinating the supplementary rugby draw each week. Bryan hain Chair Rugby Sub Committee QuEEnsLanD sChooLBoys sELECtion IN JUNE, the GPS 1st XV coaches combined to select the two GPS representative teams to compete in the State Schoolboy rugby trials. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the GPS coaches who worked with the three GPS teams. Adrian Blundell (TSS) and Justin Carroll (BGS) took charge of GPS 1. In charge of GPS 2 was Clint Bullock (IGS) and Graeme Silvester (BBC). This year for the frst time GPS rugby introduced a GPS 3rd XV and James Turner from ACGS and Jeremy Hall BSHS coordinated this team. I would also like to thank the two team managers, Mark Ensor (NC) and Spencer Attoe (TSS) for all their help at the State trials. As always the GPS teams were extremely well prepared with the aim to give our players the best opportunity to be selected into the Queensland schoolboy teams. This year Queensland won the National Schools Rugby Championship for the 4th year in a row and 20 GPS players were subsequently selected into the two Australian Schoolboys teams.
